John Jennings President / CEO

In 1991, after completing elementary, middle and high school, the basic foundation of life was in my hands. I made bad choices. I chose to sell and do drugs. This caused me to lose the most valuable things life had to offer.

In the course of selling drugs I began to use them heavily. Instead of making money I begun to lose it. As a matter of fact, I used all of my money. I started robbing banks and loan companies to support my habit.

One of my robberies led to my arrest. I was faced with 165 years; 140 in the state of SC and an additional 25 years with the federal system. The judicial system called me a menace to society.

I was sentenced to 15 years out of a possible 140 years in the state of South Carolina. Approximately 6 months later I received 4 years and 9mos. in the federal system. I was off to prison leaving behind a nine year old son and five daughters.

As I embarked on my incarcerated journey I began to realize this was not the life God created me to live. I went back to my roots. I asked God to give me one more chance. I beseeched Him - let me be the man You created me to be. He heard my prayer.

God called me to preach while I was in prison. During the next ten years my life turned around. My time was spent preaching, teaching and helping men make a positive change. As I served God's will, I saw other men lose their manhood, get stabbed, robbed and be completely taken advantage of.

With only 90 days left before finishing up my sentence, I received a call through the chaplain’s office. A call that would change my life forever.

There had been a death in my family. Someone killed my only son. This was devastating. I was not sure I could survive. I asked God why he took my only son. He said (I TOO GAVE MY ONLY SON THAT YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU COULD HAVE ETERNAL LIFE).

I was not allowed to attend the home going service. I finished up my sentence and moved to SC. The culprits were apprehended. God sent me to the courthouse to share his love with them. He also commanded me to tell the man that killed my only son how much I loved him.

When it was over God said "now son I can use you."

I had to embrace forgiveness before God could or would use me. All hateful thoughts and spiteful temptations had to be set aside forever.

I asked God to bless me with my own business. He did so. I gave birth to FAVAR Enterprises and a cleaning service company. Then God shared His plan for FAVAR MINISTRIES. He stated that He wanted me to help others as I was helped on my release. Thus he gave birth, through me, to F.A.V.A.R.

God has blessed me. I am a successful entrepreneur, the Executive Director / Founder of F.A.V.A.R.  His Ministry, which He allows me to guide, is expanding into a second state.

With God's help, and the benevolence of friends who embrace his wisdom, FAVAR's long term goal will be achieved. That goal is to operate out of seven (7) states to include: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Virigina. Once that foundation is in place, His vision will go national.

So, all who know the word of prayer, please pray. That God gives me the strength, wisdom and insight to bring his mercy to His incarcerated / homeless sons and daughters. Let me help them know and embrace His divine balm in their time of desperate need.  Email :John Jennings  jjennings@favarministries.com
